Lazy Apple Butter

Supplies

  • Crock Pot

  • Food Mill

  • Strainer

Ingredients

  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks

  • Enough apples to fill your crock pot

Instructions

  • Put Cinnamon Sticks in bottom of crock pot

  • Fill crock pot with whole apples

  • Cook on low for 24 hours or until apples are mushy when you poke them

  • Remove apples from crock pot and mill in a food mill

  • Discard seeds, stems, skins left over in the mill

  • Put squashed apples in a strainer over a bowl

  • Let sit until the liquid has drained into the bowl and remaining apple butter is desired consistency

  • Chill the liquid in the bowl for a refreshing apple cider

  • Refrigerate or freeze apple butter
